On September 30, 2007, 15-year-old Jonathan Franklin, known by the nickname "Shanky," was shot and killed in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at around 1 AM when Jonathan and two other teenagers were waiting at a bus stop in the 5400 block of 14th Street, NW. According to reports, a vehicle, described as a gold or tan-colored pickup truck with tinted windows, approached the group. Two individuals exited the vehicle, armed with handguns, and opened fire on the teenagers.
