On January 12, 2014, 50-year-old James Raymond "Jim" Landers III of Alexander City, Alabama, died from a gunshot wound sustained during a hunting accident. The incident occurred in Tallapoosa County, where Landers was engaged in a hunting expedition. Reports indicate that he was not wearing orange reflective clothing at the time of the accident, which may have contributed to the mishap.
