On June 17, 2014, 18-year-old Ashia Raquel Oliver was fatally shot at a Sunoco gas station on Pulaski Pike in Huntsville, Alabama. The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. during a large gathering of approximately 100 people, which had followed an ongoing altercation between several girls. Despite the chaotic scene, authorities determined that Ashia was an innocent bystander and not involved in the disputes that led to the shooting.
