Ashia Raquel Oliver, an 18-year-old Black female from Huntsville, was killed on June 17, 2014, when gunfire tore through a crowd gathered at a Sunoco gas station on Pulaski Pike. The shooting happened at about 3 a.m. during what reports described as a large gathering of roughly 100 people. The scene had already been tense, with an ongoing dispute involving several girls, and then the violence spilled over into something much worse.
