On a Tuesday evening in Troy, Alabama, the life of 33-year-old Trevis Green was tragically cut short. On November 11, 2014, Green was found suffering from a gunshot wound on Troy Highway. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting death of the Montgomery man swiftly led to the identification of two suspects. The first, Jerel Beamon, was apprehended by the Troy Police Department with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Beamon was taken into custody and charged with capital murder.
Shortly after Beamon's arrest, a second individual, Johnathon B. Johnson, was also identified as a suspect in connection with Green's murder. He, too, was arrested and charged with capital murder, marking the second arrest in the ongoing investigation. Both men were processed and booked into the Pike County Jail.
Following their arrests, both Jerel Beamon and Johnathon B. Johnson faced the judicial process. After being indicted on capital murder charges by a Pike County grand jury, the cases against them proceeded through the court system. Ultimately, both men were convicted for their roles in the death of Trevis Green. Beamon and Johnson were each sentenced to serve 35 years in prison.
