On a Sunday afternoon in Lee County, Alabama, the lives of two individuals were tragically cut short in a violent encounter. Bonnie Christine Partridge, a 47-year-old female, was found shot to death on April 12, 2015. Her body was discovered alongside that of 42-year-old Kenneth Wayne Partridge on a county road known as Ridge Road, near the town of Opelika.
Both victims were residents of nearby Phenix City.
Following the discovery of the victims, law enforcement officials quickly identified a person of interest in the double homicide. The focus of their search was 22-year-old Ricky Carl Clark II, also of Phenix City. Authorities revealed that Clark was related by marriage to Bonnie and Kenneth Partridge. A search for Clark was initiated in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene.
The search for the suspect concluded a short time later, not far from where the bodies of the victims were found. Ricky Carl Clark II was discovered deceased underneath a modular home. The Lee County Sheriff, Jay Jones, stated that it appeared Clark had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation into the deaths of Bonnie and Kenneth Partridge pointed towards a murder-suicide, with Clark being the sole suspect in their killings before taking his own life.
