On May 8, 2008, at around 12:25 AM, Mansoor Farooq Awan, a 26-year-old man, was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle on southbound I-295, just south of the Pennsylvania Avenue exit in Washington, D.C. Police were dispatched to the scene following reports of the shooting. Despite prompt medical attention, Awan succumbed to his injuries.
