On August 23, 2015, in Valhermoso Springs, Alabama, 73-year-old Jessie Pearl Haga was found deceased alongside her husband, 76-year-old Robert Wendell Luker, in their home at 122 Black Road. The couple had married just a week prior to the incident. Authorities from the Morgan County Sheriff's Office indicated that the scene suggested Luker had fatally shot Haga before taking his own life. Autopsies were conducted to confirm the cause of death.
