On September 10, 2015, at approximately 9:27 p.m., DeKalb County E911 received a call reporting a domestic disturbance on Highway 227 in the Rhoden Town community of Crossville, Alabama. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two victims: 63-year-old Johnny Osborn of Crossville, who had sustained apparent stab wounds, and 49-year-old Donna Rae Andrews Osborn of Rainsville, who had suffered possible gunshot wounds.
