On February 10, 2016, in Trussville, Alabama, 26-year-old Brittaney Owens was tragically killed in a murder-suicide incident involving her former boyfriend, 29-year-old Troy Green. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. on North Lake Drive near Camp Coleman Road. According to Trussville Police Captain Jeff Bridges, Green blocked the road with his vehicle, forcing Owens to stop as she was returning home.
