In the evening hours of September 10, 2008, a sense of unease settled over the 100 block of Anacostia Road, SE in Washington, D.C. At approximately 9:40 PM, the sound of gunfire shattered the night, forever altering the lives of one family. When Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at the scene, they found 35-year-old Lamont Williams suffering from a gunshot wound.
