On June 9, 2016, 21-year-old Alijah Donte Rogers of Bessemer, Alabama, was found near railroad tracks in Birmingham, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Responding to reports of a person down in the 1700 block of 36th Street North, officers discovered Rogers, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.
