On June 20, 2016, 24-year-old Wardell M. Turner was fatally shot in Marion, Alabama. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at a residence on Highway 14, just west of Marion. Authorities reported that Turner was shot multiple times in the back, allegedly by 40-year-old Tony Hogan, also a resident of Marion. The shooting was reportedly the result of a dispute involving Turner's wife.
