An esteemed Tuskegee Airman and dedicated university administrator, Augustus Lindsay Palmer passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. A respected figure in his community, Mr. Palmer was 85 years old at the time of his death, which resulted from prostate cancer. His passing occurred on the same day that President Barack Obama was inaugurated, an event he was able to witness from his hospital bed.
