On September 9, 2016, 67-year-old Hubert White and his 32-year-old son, Micah White, were fatally shot in Hillsboro, Alabama. The assailant, 63-year-old Earl Clayburn Coburn, was the former father-in-law of Micah White. The incident was reportedly linked to a custody dispute over Micah's daughter.
