On December 2, 2016, 35-year-old Donna Loraine Martin of Flomaton, Alabama, tragically lost her life in a hunting accident. She and 31-year-old Shannon Heath Bell were illegally hunting deer from a pickup truck near Pollard Landing in Escambia County. Around 6 p.m., as Bell was removing a rifle from the vehicle, it discharged, striking Martin in the abdomen. She was transported to Brewton Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries during surgery.
