The date was February 26, 2017, a day that ended in a physical struggle and the discharge of a firearm, leading to Burton sustaining a fatal gunshot wound. He was a resident of Opelika, Alabama at the time of his death.
Emergency responders were called to the scene and transported Burton to a local hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced dead. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into the homicide.
