Brittany Young, a 20-year-old African American woman from Montgomery, Alabama, was fatally shot on March 19, 2017. Authorities responded to the scene at approximately 9:25 a.m. on Express Drive, near Troy Highway and Bell Road, where they discovered Young suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries the following night, on March 20, 2017.
