On a tragic Friday night in May of 2017, the life of 55-year-old Lisa Marie Griffin of Enterprise, Alabama, was cut short by an act of violence. On May 12th, while inside a rural mobile home on Dale County Road 24 in the Level Plains community, Griffin was critically wounded when multiple gunshots were fired into the residence. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 9:15 p.m.
following reports of shots being fired in the area.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered Griffin inside the home, suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was rushed by Enterprise Rescue to Flowers Hospital in Dothan, where she was tragically pronounced dead on arrival. Investigators at the scene determined that numerous rounds had been fired into the dwelling. Despite the presence of other individuals inside the mobile home at the time of the shooting, Griffin was the only one struck by the gunfire. The mobile home where the fatal shooting occurred has since been destroyed by a fire.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the Dale County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into the homicide. Authorities made public appeals for any information that could lead to the person or persons responsible for Lisa Griffin's death. However, weeks after the incident, no arrests had been made, although the sheriff's office stated that they were making progress in the case.
Years have passed since that fatal night, and the case of Lisa Griffin's murder has grown cold. Law enforcement officials have interviewed numerous individuals and exhausted all available leads, but have yet to make an arrest. It remains unclear whether Griffin herself was the intended target of the shooting or if someone else in the residence was the focus of the violence.
