On May 26, 2017, 38-year-old Jason Mandell Elliott was fatally shot while sitting on the front porch of his girlfriend's home in the 4200 block of 51st Avenue North in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred just after 10:30 p.m., when Elliott was struck multiple times in a drive-by shooting.
