On September 6, 2017, the body of 60-year-old Susan Mayo was found in her home in Wilmer, Alabama, under what authorities quickly deemed suspicious circumstances. Mayo, a long-time resident of the small town, had been reported missing by her family earlier that day after they had lost contact with her.
