On August 29, 2009, at approximately 11:23 p.m., Moriba Salim Hylton, aged 27, was shot and killed while in the 1300 block of 5th Street NW, Washington, D.C. Hylton was discovered by the responding officers in this busy urban area, which was known for heightened tension and criminal activity during that period.
