On January 18, 2018, 13-year-old Russell "Rusty" Parker was tragically shot and killed in Piedmont, Alabama. The incident occurred at his home on County Road 53, where authorities received reports of a shooting at around 6:30 p.m. When law enforcement and emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found Parker with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter at a nearby hospital.
