On November 11, 2009, Mouhamed Diop, age 33, was shot and killed in Washington, D.C., in a tragic incident that also claimed the life of Babacar Mbaye Ndiaye. The shooting took place at approximately 8:47 PM on the 1200 block of 44th Street, NE. Ndiaye was transported to Washington Hospital Center’s MedStar Unit, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Diop, meanwhile, was taken to PG County Hospital and succumbed to his injuries the following day at around 4:00 AM.
