On September 22, 2018, the bodies of Monica Cooper Graves, 31, and John Allen Softley, 70, were discovered in a pickup truck under the Interstate 22 overpass at Exit 78 near Dora, Alabama. Both individuals had sustained gunshot wounds.
Monica Graves, a resident of Empire, Alabama, was born on September 24, 1986. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hulon Cooper Sr. and Molly Cooper, and her grandfather, Eugene Walter Sarr.
