In the small town of Dora, Alabama, a domestic dispute on February 1, 2014, ended in tragedy, leaving one woman dead and a man injured. Synthia Lynn Payne, a 49-year-old female, was identified by authorities as the deceased.
The incident unfolded as a domestic shooting, where Payne allegedly shot her husband before turning the gun on herself. The Walker County Sheriff's Office investigated the event.
Payne was pronounced dead at the scene from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Her husband was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The investigation by law enforcement officials concluded that Payne was the sole perpetrator in the shooting involving her husband and that she subsequently took her own life. Consequently, there were no other suspects pursued in this case, and no arrests were made in connection with her death.
