On June 14, 2019, in Warrior, Alabama, 26-year-old Christy Lynn Pickett and 58-year-old Tommy Ervin Shyrie Sr. were found deceased in their residence on Bethel Road. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check requested by Pickett's mother, who had been unable to contact her daughter. Upon arrival, deputies discovered both victims had been fatally shot.
