In the quiet subdivision of Summerchase in Calera, Alabama, the evening of Sunday, June 16, 2019, was shattered by violence that claimed the life of 18-year-old Deonte Keshawn Puryear. At approximately 9:40 p.m., the young man was fatally shot, marking a tragic end to a young life. Puryear was a male resident of Calera.
