On June 16, 2019, at approximately 9:41 p.m., 18-year-old Deonte Keshawn Puryear was fatally shot in the Summerchase subdivision of Calera, Alabama. Puryear, a resident of Alabaster, was found in his vehicle parked in a driveway within the subdivision. He sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
