On January 2, 2011, at approximately 6:58 a.m., Brian Curtis Scott, age 21, was shot and killed in the 3400 block of 13th Place, SE, in Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene, and the incident was classified as a homicide. It was the first recorded homicide in Washington, D.C. for the year 2011.
