On April 3, 2020, in Centre, Alabama, 32-year-old Jessica Diane Hite Messaadi was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound at her residence on County Road 19. Responding to a 911 call received just after 11 a.m., Cherokee County deputies discovered her body and took her 13-year-old son into custody at the scene. Due to his age, the suspect's name was not released.
