On June 4, 2020, 18-year-old William Zane Hodgin of Somerville, Alabama, was among seven individuals tragically killed in a mass shooting at a residence on Talucah Road in Valhermoso Springs, Alabama. The victims, comprising four men and three women aged between 17 and 45, were found deceased from gunshot wounds when authorities responded to reports of gunfire and a fire at the location. A dog was also found shot at the scene.
