On January 27, 2021, 32-year-old Zachary Bryan Hollingsworth was fatally shot during an altercation at the Papa John's Pizza located at 12793 Highway 231 in Hazel Green, Alabama. The incident occurred around 9:51 PM when two employees became involved in a dispute that escalated, resulting in Hollingsworth's death from a gunshot wound.
