In the early morning hours of a Wednesday in Scottsboro, Alabama, a grim discovery was made inside a suspicious vehicle that had been reported on a roadway. Authorities were called to the scene at approximately 6:15 a.m., where they found two individuals who had been fatally shot. The female victim was identified as 35-year-old Amber Michelle Coffman of Hollywood, Alabama.
The man found with her was 33-year-old Owen Deanglo Williamson, also from Hollywood.
At the time of her tragic death, Coffman was eight months pregnant. In a race against time, emergency responders rushed her to a nearby hospital in a desperate attempt to save her unborn child. Medical personnel were able to successfully deliver the baby, who was then immediately transported to a hospital in Huntsville for specialized care.
The investigation into the deaths of Coffman and Williamson was treated as a murder-suicide. Law enforcement officials worked to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting.
