Henry Murphy, a 67-year-old white male from Rockford, Illinois, tragically lost his life on July 18, 2015. Murphy, an Army veteran and amateur radio operator, was found dead in his home on Owen Center Road. The circumstances surrounding his death were both shocking and brutal. Murphy had been shot and killed, and his home was subsequently set on fire in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime. His golden retriever was also killed in the incident, adding to the heinous nature of the crime.
