On August 14, 2021, at approximately 2:19 a.m., Mobile Police officers responded to a shooting at the Saddle Up Saloon, located at 9 North Jackson Street in downtown Mobile, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Andrew "Andy" Sims deceased from a gunshot wound inside the establishment. Two other individuals were also injured in the incident and later arrived at a local hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
