On October 24, 2021, 33-year-old Andre Lydell Thompson of Highland Home, Alabama, was fatally shot at Goldmine Entertainment, a nightclub located in the 200 block of U.S. Highway 231 in Troy. The incident occurred around 1:37 a.m., prompting a response from the Troy Police Department. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Thompson had been transported by private vehicle to Troy Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
