On November 21, 2021, Sharon Dianne Teal Askew, a 53-year-old woman from Oneonta, Alabama, was found dead under suspicious circumstances that led to a homicide investigation. Askew, a mother and grandmother, was reported missing by her family on the same day her body was discovered. Authorities quickly determined that her death was the result of foul play. Her body was located in a remote area near a residence in Blount County, Alabama, which is not far from her hometown of Oneonta.
