In the spring of 2013, the life of a young Washington, D.C. man was tragically cut short in an act of violence that remains unresolved. On the afternoon of Thursday, May 16, 2013, police were called to an apartment in the 1200 block of Talbert Street in Southeast D.C. Inside, they discovered the body of 28-year-old Charles Anthony Garris. A resident of Southwest D.C., the young man had sustained an apparent gunshot wound.
