On September 7, 2013, Kenneth Guytrell Sweet, aged 30, was shot and killed in the early hours of the morning in the 2900 block of 2nd Street, SE, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred at approximately 3:46 a.m. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of gunfire and found Sweet suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by emergency responders, Sweet was pronounced dead at the scene.
