On April 18, 2022, just before 9 a.m., Montgomery police and fire medics responded to a call in the 800 block of Westview Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered 38-year-old Charles Griggs of Montgomery, Alabama, who had been fatally shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man at the location had sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
