On June 29, 2022, Deputy Sheriff Bradley Steven Henry Johnson, a 32-year-old officer with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office in Alabama, was fatally shot while engaged in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle. Johnson, who had served with the sheriff’s office for over seven years, was critically wounded in the shooting. He was taken to UAB Hospital, where he remained on life support before passing away on June 30, 2022.
