On October 25, 1963, Special Agent Ralph A. Holt, along with other agents, was involved in the execution of a federal search warrant at Club 92, a dance hall located about five miles southwest of Brent, Alabama. The dance hall was operated by Tod Tidwell. During the search, Tidwell, who had initially feigned cooperation, suddenly drew a .38 caliber revolver from his pocket and fired twice.
