On June 4, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred on Myers Road in Eight Mile, Alabama, resulting in the death of William Jones and critically injuring another individual, Jacquel Bridges. Upon arrival, Prichard Police found Jones deceased and Bridges suffering from life-threatening injuries; Bridges was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment.
