On July 2, 2023, in Slocomb, Alabama, 26-year-old Christopher George Knight was found deceased in the front yard of his residence on Post Oak Road. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Authorities quickly identified his roommate, 26-year-old Jeffrey Dylan Carberry, as a suspect. Carberry was located and detained by Samson Police before being transferred to the Geneva County Jail, where he was charged with Knight's murder.
