In the summer of 2023, the quiet community of Slocomb, Alabama, was unsettled by the violent death of a young man. On the second of July, the body of 26-year-old Christopher George Knight, a Caucasian male, was discovered in the front yard of his residence on Post Oak Road. He was employed at an auto body shop at the time of his death. Following the incident, Carberry was held in the Geneva County Jail without bond as he awaited further legal proceedings.
