On August 21, 2023, 21-year-old Aaron Lamar Maxwell of Midfield, Alabama, was fatally shot during an assault in the 500 block of Violet Street around 10 p.m. His body was discovered early the next morning in a field near the 1400 block of Woodward Road. The Midfield Police Department is investigating the incident as a homicide.
