On the morning of August 29, 2023, 20-year-old African American female Sequoiya Mone’e Lamar was found deceased from gunshot wounds in the 4400 block of Bonnell Drive in Huntsville, Alabama. Another victim, 24-year-old African American female D’Asia Monique Morris, was also found dead at the scene. The Huntsville Police Department's Major Crimes Unit initiated an investigation into the double homicide.
