On October 14, 2023, 31-year-old Ladarius Cortez Jones was found shot to death on a street in Fairfield, Alabama. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified him as the victim.
Jones's death was part of a series of homicides in the Birmingham District in 2023. As of October 17, no arrests had been made in connection with his killing.
