In the late summer of 2021, a tragedy struck a family in Fairfield, Alabama, ending in the death of 44-year-old Corey Dwaynce Waters. On August 26th, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 500 block of 42nd Street to investigate a report of a person shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered Waters, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
