On the night of January 14, 2015, Phillip Jones, a 17-year-old teenager, was fatally shot in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM in the 3100 block of Randall Place, SE. Jones had just left a high school basketball game shortly before the shooting. Responding to gunshots, police officers found him suffering from critical injuries, and he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
