On January 22, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., Moody Police Department officers responded to a reported domestic assault at a residence on Lee Green Road in Moody, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 61-year-old John D. Bowlin deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. His wife, 60-year-old Connie L. Bowlin, was also found with a gunshot injury to her right arm and was transported to UAB Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
