On the evening of April 13, 2024, in the quiet community of Independence in Autauga County, Alabama, a domestic dispute escalated into a tragic and fatal event. Inside a home on County Road 40, 35-year-old Melissa Sarah Bishop Banks, a dedicated and compassionate nurse at Prattville Junior High, was found dead from a gunshot wound.
